“During the last few years, India has not only emerged as the second largest steel producing nation but also the second largest steel consumer. As we move towards a production capacity of 300 MnTPA by 2030, steel producers in India are working to build a more sustainable ecosystem that would enable production and consumption of steel to meet the challenges of decarbonisation and conservation of precious natural resources.
I welcome all the delegates and attendees to ISA Steel Conclave 2022 and look forward to meeting them and exchanging ideas and views on some of the pressing challenges and exciting opportunities that lie ahead. During this defining phase for the industry, there is an urgent need for us to work together to catapult the Indian steel sector to its next phase. I wish the 2022 edition of the Conclave a huge success!”
OVERVIEW
The Indian Steel Association is pleased to introduce the Third Edition of its flagship event – “ISA – Steel Conclave”. The Conclave will take place on November 21 - 22, 2022 at The LaLiT, New Delhi, India.
Moving forward after the success of its previous editions, The ISA – Steel Conclave 2022 will once again cover pertinent issues and deliberate on Indian and global perspectives of the steel industry.
India is currently the second largest steel producer in the world. With a share of 6% in global crude steel production and 5.7% in global crude steel consumption, India has become one of the major steel hubs in the world for both the production and consumption of steel. India has witnessed an increase in the export for finished steel to an all-time high of 13.49 MT in FY2021-22, up by 25% from FY2020-21 which indicates that India's finished steel is widely accepted. With emerging opportunities within India and globally, the Indian steel sector is expected to exponentially and reach new heights.
